Reported Crop Circles for the State of Maine -

Pittston / Gardiner, Kennebec County (August 4, 2002)

The formation consists of three circles in tall grass (hayfield). The three circles, which overlap slightly, are approximately 60, 35 and 25 feet in diameter. The circles are ovular, with distances to the centers varying up to four feet in a north-south vs. east-west direction. All the circles are swirled clockwise. The lay of the grass is fluid, with multiple layers noted a short distance from the centers. Many plant species were involved, including various grasses, Queen-Anne's Lace, clover, goldenrod and milkweed, all bent close to the base without apparent breakage or creases.
